Meet Laura

Laura Micallef is a designer at heart. Her passion took root and, in time, bloomed into Blue Poppy Design. After graduating from college with a degree in Art and a focus in Interior Design, Laura gained valuable experience within a high-end design firm in the Gaslamp District. For years, she worked with clients in the restaurant and bar industry, learning just how much is possible when proper balance is struck between vision, materials, budget, and time.

Following an entrepreneurial impulse, Laura has translated her experience and skill within the commercial design into a boutique firm specializing in residential design as well. Much more than you’ll find in an interior designer, Laura is proficient in the technical and logistical aspects of the work. Drafting construction plans, sourcing quality materials and specialty items, negotiating with contractors, Laura will usher your unique project into being.

Laura and her family thrive in their home, in a coastal town of San Diego’s beautiful North County.
